Day 1:
At 7:00 AM, our guide will pick you up at your hotel in Aswan and drive you in a private car to Kom Ombo, an hour away. You can see Kom Ombo Temple on a hill overlooking the Nile when you get there. It differs from other temples in that it has two ways of entering. Each one bears the name of a deity: “Haroeris” has the head of a falcon, and “Sobek” has the head of a crocodile. Kom Ombo Temple was built to honor two deities: Sobek, the god of fertility and creator of the world, who had the head of a crocodile, and Haroeris, or Horus, who had the head of a falcon. Also, Kom Ombo is important because of its large sugar cane.
After that, your day trip will continue to Edfu, where you can see the beautiful Temple of Edfu, dedicated to Horus and often believed to be the best-preserved cult temple in all of Egypt. In Egyptian mythology, it was the place where Horus, the falcon-headed god, killed Seth for killing his father, Osiris.
Continue driving to the east bank of Luxor, where you will have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you will go to the Karnak Temples, built for the god Amun, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu. These temples are the best example of worship in history. Amenhotep III began building the Luxor Temple during the eighteenth dynasty of the New Kingdom, and Ramesses II completed it during the nineteenth dynasty.
After that, you will be taken to your hotel in Luxor, where you will spend the night.
Meals: Lunch – Dinner
Day 2:
At 8:30 AM, our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor and take you to the West Bank, where you will visit the Valley of the Kings. This is where many kings are buried; it is a beautiful place with great architecture, among the most famous tombs of King Thutmose I, King Thutmose III, King Ramesses VI, King Merneptah, and Amenhotep II.
See the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. It was built by Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmose I, who ruled Egypt for about 20 years during the Eighteenth Dynasty (c. 1490-1469 BC). She is the only Pharaonic woman who ruled ancient Egypt. You’ll see the Colossus of Memnon, all that remains of the temple where Amenhotep III is buried.
